Unique Features: Handpainted clothing and handpainted ceramic tiles

Subject Matter: Endangered species, portraits (animal and otherwise), nudes, fantasy, florals, and wildlife.

Style: "Painterly Realism" with a little neo/classical thrown in for good luck!

Projects:

  • Currently volunteer at "Heart of MN. Animal Shelter" and train shelter dogs to help them become more adoptable
  • The Wild Dogs survival project (wild dogs of Africa)
  • The Great Bear Foundation (grizzly habitat)
  • The Mexican Wolf Reintroduction Program (Wild Canid Sanctuary)
  • The International Society of Endangered Cats
  • The International Endangered Species Media Project- I had the Grizzly Bear Piece and the Beluga Whales selected from 800 entrants (they selected 80 altogether). The show is currently traveling the US and Canada.
  • The Prezwalski Horse reintroduction program - Rotterdam
  • The Southwest Mural - Red legged Tortoise - At La Cucaracha Restaurant, Mpls. Mn.
  • La Mantilla Bay Mural - At La Cucaracha Restaurant, St. Paul. MN.
  • Painted portraits of Laser and Ninja for the St. Paul Police K-9 Unit public "Hall of Honor" where they will be on display with Officer Tim Jones memorial.
  • German Shepherd painting used in scenes for "Grumpier Old Men" the movie (December 1995 release).
  • Painting of Mounted Patrol for Mounted Patrol of St. Paul Police Department

Comments:

It would be truly sad if, as artists, the only way in which we could portray a subject was not from life, but only our imaginations. Every time one part of the environment is destroyed, our own rainbows dim and we all come that much closer to the darkness and cold of oblivion. Extinction is a dead end!
